Customizing Rating Design in Dynamic AJAX Product Filters

The Dynamic AJAX Product Filters plugin enables you to set up rating filters that help users quickly find products based on customer feedback. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to customize the rating design, including all available suboptions.

Step 1: Gather Customer Ratings

Before customizing the filter, ensure that you have collected ratings from customers. This can be done through:

  • Product Reviews: Encourage customers to leave reviews and ratings after their purchase.
  • Feedback Forms: Use feedback forms to gather ratings directly from users.
  • Third-party Review Services: Integrate services that allow customers to rate products.

Having this data will allow the rating filter to function effectively, displaying accurate customer ratings.

Step 2: Access Form Style Settings

  1. Navigate to Form Style:
    • Go to Product Filters > Form Style in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Select Rating Attribute:
    • From the Select Attribute dropdown, choose the Rating attribute that you want to customize.

Step 3: Choose Rating Style Options

  1. Select Attribute Style Options:
    • Choose Rating as the attribute style option. This will enable the various rating filter design options available for customization.

Step 4: Customize Rating Suboptions

After selecting Rating, you will see several suboptions to choose from:

  1. Rating: Star Rating with Checkbox
    • This option displays a star rating system alongside checkboxes for each rating level (e.g., 1 star to 5 stars). Users can select a rating by clicking on the stars and also check a box for that rating. This design is intuitive and allows users to filter products based on their preferred rating easily.
  1. Rating with Text: Select Rating as Text Value with Checkbox
    • This option presents the rating levels as text values (e.g., “1 Star,” “2 Stars,” etc.) alongside checkboxes. Users can select the desired rating by checking the respective box. This approach is useful for those who prefer textual representations of ratings, providing clarity in filtering.
  1. Dynamic Rating: Dynamic Star Rating Without Checkbox
    • This design features a dynamic star rating system that allows users to hover over or click on the stars to select a rating, but it does not include checkboxes. This option provides a cleaner interface, focusing solely on the star rating selection, making it user-friendly and visually appealing.

Step 5: Save Changes

After customizing your desired rating filter options, be sure to click the Save button to apply your changes.

Once you have completed these steps and saved your settings, your product filter will display the customized rating design options. Users will have an engaging and efficient way to filter products based on ratings, enhancing their overall shopping experience. Ensure the ratings you gather from customers are accurately reflected in the filter for the best results.
