Scheduled checks use WP-Cron, WordPress’s built-in task runner. WP-Cron runs when someone visits the site, so on a site with few visitors a weekly check can start late.
Check the schedule
- Settings → Runs & limits → Schedule must be Weekly (or Daily in Pro), not Manual only.
- The Dashboard shows Next run next to the API calls this month.

Run it on time with a real cron job
- Add
define( 'DISABLE_WP_CRON', true );towp-config.php. - In your hosting control panel, add a cron job that opens
https://yoursite.com/wp-cron.phpevery 5 to 15 minutes.
A check seems stuck
Checks run in small background batches of about 20 seconds each, so no request times out. Each finished answer is saved, so a check that stopped picks up where it left off on the next batch. Keep the Dashboard open or visit the site, and it continues.
Some security and caching plugins block wp-cron.php. If checks never run, allow wp-cron.php in those plugins.
